Karen Miller, ATC

Karen received a bachelor of science in athletic medicine from the University of Michigan, where she found the schedule of classroom studies in the morning and practicing skills in the training room in the afternoon made the ideal major for her. She received her certification as an athletic trainer in April of 2007 and then completed a one-year internship at the University of Michigan as a certified athletic trainer. She is working in her current position while applying for entrance into doctor of osteopathy school. Karen’s area of focus and study is athletic performance and functional rehabilitation techniques. When not working, Karen enjoys both downhill and water skiing.

"I became an athletic trainer because it is the perfect combination of my two passions, medicine and athletics. Growing up, I was a huge sports fan but never a very good athlete. In high school I found a way to help people and maintain involvement with athletics without participating. It was a great way to learn more about the medical field in a hands-on manner."
